 Job Description
  • • Oversee daily maintenance of beachside gardens, native flora zones, and shaded walkways
    • Ensure healthy growth of tropical plants, palms, and coastal greenery through watering, pruning, and pest control
    • Maintain visual harmony between natural landscapes and built environments, including villas, and event spaces
    • Lead and train landscaping crew in safe, efficient use of tools and eco-friendly practices
    • Schedule tasks to minimize disruption to guest areas and ensure safety during operations
    • Monitor team performance and uphold standards of tidiness, hospitality, and respect for nature
    • Develop weekly and seasonal landscaping plans suited to island climate and guest flow
    • Coordinate with housekeeping, engineering, and events teams for cross-functional support
    • Manage inventory of tools, fertilizers, and native plant stock; liaise with local nurseries or suppliers
    • Support themed landscaping for weddings, cultural showcases, and wellness retreats
    • Incorporate local motifs, traditional plants, and storytelling elements into garden design
    • Respond to guest feedback and special requests with warmth and attention to detail
    • Promote eco-conscious practices such as composting, water conservation, and native planting
    • Ensure compliance with environmental guidelines and resort sustainability goals
    • Act as a steward of the island’s natural beauty, preserving its charm for guests and the community
 Skill Requirement
  • Skills in tropical plant care, including pruning, watering, pest control, and seasonal planting.
  • Leadership skills are essential for guiding staff, assigning tasks, and maintaining service standards.
  • Cultural sensitivity and aesthetic awareness is preferred, especially when supporting themed landscaping, cultural events, or heritage installations.
  • Familiarity with eco-friendly practices such as composting, water conservation, and native planting is highly desirable.
 Qualication / Certification Requirement
  • • Diploma or Certificate in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Agriculture, or related field
    • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in landscaping or groundskeeping, preferably in tropical or coastal environments
    • Basic knowledge of native flora, soil care, and sustainable gardening practices
    • Experience supervising teams, managing schedules, and coordinating with other departments
    • Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English for effective communication with staff, vendors, and guests
    • Familiarity with safety protocols, chemical handling, and equipment maintenance
